A brief history of food and smoke

Who doesn't love the taste of smoked meat? It's a flavor that's been around for centuries and has been enjoyed by people all over the world. But where did smoking food originate?

Well, it turns out that smoking food has been around for a long time. In fact, it's been around for so long that people don't even know when it was first discovered. Some say it was the Native Americans who first used smoking as a way to preserve their meat. Others say it was the Vikings who discovered the process during their travels.

But one thing is for sure, smoking food has been an important part of human history. Not only was it used as a way to preserve meat, but it was also used for medicinal purposes. Some cultures believed that smoking could ward off evil spirits and cure diseases.

Fast forward to modern times and smoking food has become a hobby for many. With the invention of the smoker, people can now smoke their own meat at home. And let's be honest, there's something satisfying about creating your own delicious smoked barbecue chicken or pulled pork.

So, the next time you take a bite of that perfectly smoked brisket, take a moment to appreciate the history behind it.

But what about time!? I've got some mad respect for the grill tenders willing to sit out there all night smoking their meat to perfection. But, that life isn't for everybody!
